I mean, we all know that translated it means: Digital Monsters and Pocket Monsters but do you think Digimon copied Pokemon? I personally love both, in fact i kept up with more seasons of Digimon than i did for Pokemon, in fact i think i kept up with all seasons... Differences-ALL creatures in Digimon have a 'mon' suffix -The creatures are called from cards or are always out (depending on which season) Similarities-The creatures evolve (digivolve) -There is a movie for every season Can you think of any other Differences and Similarities? Digimon and Pokemon are examples of convergent evolution, actually. If you check their Wikipedias, digimon and pokemon were developed in almost the same year. Pokemon was intended to be a virtual bug collecting game to catch all the pokemon and raise them, and Digimon was a tamagotchi for boys you could raise and fight. So they're really, really similar, but one's not the copy of the other.
If you're looking for rip-offs of pokemon, you should check out Bakugan: Battle Brawlers. It's like the bastard child of pokemon, digimon, and yu-gi-oh.
